Biography
Born to Moroccan parents in Huizen, Netherlands, Amrabat represents the Dutch-Moroccan diaspora that chose to play for the Atlas Lions. His tenacious pressing, ball recovery and passing range established him as Morocco's engine room. At Qatar 2022, Amrabat was named in the Team of the Tournament — his performance against the likes of Belgium, Spain and Portugal announced him as one of the world's elite defensive midfielders. Playing against the Netherlands, the country that raised him, he chose Morocco without hesitation.
